For the past several weeks I've been questioning what exactly is going on in the Naruto Manga, especially what is going on with Naruto. And now I think that I've come up with the answer.

Naruto is the ressurection of the Sage of Six Paths. Now before you start saying that I'm full of it, and don't know what I'm talking about here me out.

According to the Naruto Wikia "According to Jiraiya, the Sage was a priest who appeared long ago in an age of endless war. He was the first to explain the truth about chakra  and tried to use his power and wisdom to lead the world to peace instead of war. The Sage travelled throughout the world, spreading his ideas and religion, the Shinobi Sect, which eventually came to be known as ninjutsu. His great deeds and true desire to bring peace to the war-torn world led him to become widely known as the Saviour of this World.
The Sage's ultimate wish to establish peace throughout the world was a goal that could never be achieved within his lifetime alone. Knowing that his end was approaching, the Sage entrusted his strength, dream, and legacy to his two sons. The older son, who inherited the Sage's "eyes": the power of his chakra and his spiritual energy, believed that power was the true key to peace. The younger son, who inherited the Sage's "body"; his willpower and physical energy, believed that love was the true key to peace."

Now taking from that we know that the Sage was a man that was able to change the ideals and the way people thought. He spread his  throughout the world, and that his desire to bring peace to a war torn world would later make him known as the Savior of the World.

Sound familair.

Its been said by other people throughout the series, but I think Kakashi said it the best. Naruto has a "unique power", he changes the world views of those that he meets and inspires the courage in them to make the future a better place. "With this power, Naruto was able to redeem Zabuza Momochi, make Neji Hyūga abandon his view of destiny and inescapable fate, inspire courage in Inari, Sakura Haruno, and Hinata Hyūga, persuade Tsunade to come out of seclusion, change Gaara from the dark demon into one of his closest friends, and even earn the trust of Nagato, the apparent leader of Akatsuki, who was one of the main antagonists of the series. Neji believes that only Naruto can save Sasuke Uchiha from darkness; however, Sasuke and A, the Fourth Raikage are to date the only people Naruto has failed to persuade."

Recently after successfully suppressing the Nine-Tailed Fox and taking its Chakra into himself and imprisoning the Fox Naruto took on the appreance of the Sage. Even the Fox was able to recognize a sealing technique of the Sage that Naruto used. Yamato commented that when in this new form Naruto is giving off a kind of life force that is making his wood element grow. He was even able to sense the hatred of a member of the Akatsuki, something that is said to be almost impossible of even he most gifted sensor types of ninja.

Also remember Naruto is said o be the child of prophecy by the Great Toad Sage. It's said that Naruto will bring Peace to the world of the Ninja, something that the Sage tried to do. Minato and Kushina new that there was something special about Naruto, if they didnt why would they have named him after a character from Jiraya's book that was so great, that strived for peace. If they didnt think there was something special about him why would they seal the nine tails in him. Beacause they did know that there was something special about him.

So think what you want, but in my opinion Naruto is the Sage of Six Paths Reborn.

err no Naruto is not the Sage of Six Paths reborn because the sage was Jivanmukta.
But Naruto is very simular to him indeed and he will most likely become Jivanmukta himself aswell.
